About TalkHockeyRadio

TalkHockeyRadio was started in 2006 by Peter Savage, who was a regular contributor to the former Hockey Sport magazine. Podcasting was in its infancy, and Peter used his experience freelancing for local radio to start the first ever hockey podcast.

After a pilot recording was made at the National Indoor Championships in January 2006, the first monthly podcast went on-line in April of that year.

After a few months, Peter was approached by some hockey journalists and asked if he would add a monthly on-line magazine to the website, and so HockeyTalk was born.

Photographs of matches had always featured on the site and in 2011 the decision was made to put these on a separate site called www.HockeyImages.co.uk.

TalkHockeyRadio has brought reports from all other the world, covering the major hockey events at home and abroad. You can see some of the events we have covered by clicking here.

TalkHockeyRadio produced a monthly half-hour podcast until January 2013 when, in response to changes in the way that visitors were using the site, these were discontinued. Now interviews etc are put straight onto the site as soon as possible after they are recorded.

Peter would like to acknowledge the support and assistance he receives from some really great hockey writers and photographers, and in particular the support for the site given by Mercian Hockey.
